Dublin has moved up a place to rank as the 20th most popular destination in the world for international association meetings in 2005 according to a recent report published by the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA).

Dublin attracted 50 events of this nature last year and played host to approximately 16, 294 delegates, each of whom is estimated to spend on average €210 per day excluding registration fees throughout the course of the meeting.

According to Jean Evans, CEO of the Dublin Convention Bureau, We are delighted that Dublin has become an even more popular choice for international association meetings organisers, confirming its excellence as a quality business tourism destination. We will be focusing more resources on developing this important market and expect to steadily improve on this performance in the coming years.
