Europe’s PCO association leaders all set to head for Malaga

The programme will include analysis on progress made during 2013 on the formation of the Federation’s European Observatory. Its three pillars – dedicated to Education, Economy and National Organisation – are being formulated by specialist working groups from within the EFAPCO membership.

Leading members from the national associations which make up the European Federation of the Associations of PCOs have accepted an invitation from OPC Spain and the City of Malaga, to hold its 6th Congress and General Assembly in the elegant and lively southern Spanish destination on January 17 and 18, 2014.

The invitation was welcomed by delegates at this year’s General Assembly held earlier this month in the Czech capital of Prague.

EFAPCO President Luisa Ahrens Teixeira said: “Work has already begun on planning what promises to be two days of intensive conference and workshop sessions. We will be working closely with OPC Espana to make sure we develop a programme which will prove attractive to all of our 14 member associations, and to those new member associations which we hope to help form in other non-member countries in Europe.

“We will also be extending an invitation to leading PCOs in non-member countries to join us and discover the benefits they could gain from forming their own national associations and becoming part of our highly progressive European network.”

A range of other industry specialists will be invited to take part, including business travel and events academics, meetings professionals and colleagues from other associations including JMIC, MPI, IAPCO, UIA and WTO.

The programme will include analysis on progress made during 2013 on the formation of the Federation’s European Observatory. Its three pillars – dedicated to Education, Economy and National Organisation – are being formulated by specialist working groups from within the EFAPCO membership. There will also be programme elements developed by OPC Espana.

The Congress is due to take place in Malaga’s state-of-the-art Trade Fair and Convention Centre.
