Global Alliance agreements were signed with three national amusement associations – the China Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (CAAPA), the Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI), and the Australian Amusement Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA) – the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) announced today.

The Global Alliances Program is a cooperative partnership agreement to provide better services to members and promote growth of the amusement industry worldwide while strengthening local industries. Under this program, national, regional and state associations act as business partners in the region while providing direct services to members in their language. As a partner, IAAPA provides benefits that include education, communications & government relations, and resource support.

The real power of the industry resides within the partnerships created through alliances with state, regional and national amusement associations, said IAAPA president and CEO, J. Clark Robinson. Forty five percent of all IAAPA member facilities are located outside of the United States. These partnerships provide an exceptional opportunity for continued growth within our industry.

Recognizing Asia`s prominence as a key market for the amusement industry, IAAPA is holding the region`s largest exposition in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The IAAPA Asian Expo 2005 – which combines a world-class trade show, education & training programs, informative tours, and professional networking opportunities – is being held July 13-15.

At the Expo, attendees may explore the newest products and services offered by the amusement industry`s leading manufacturers and suppliers. Safety consulting, rides, games, play equipment, admissions systems, costumes, IMAX films, and water shows are all on display.

With a population of more than 3.7 billion, Asia is one of the amusement industry`s most important markets. As home to four of the 10 most visited amusement parks in the world, Asia attracts more than 65 million visitors annually to its largest parks, and overall attendance at parks in Asia accounts for 41 percent of park attendance internationally.
