Reinforcing its commitment to global expansion, MPI has appointed Antonio Ducceschi, CMM to a new role within the organisation, Director of Sales and Partnership Development, EMEA. In this new position, Antonio will be responsible for developing new partnerships and business opportunities in Europe and the Middle East to accelerate MPI’s global development, as well as nurturing the business relationship that MPI has with key partners in EMEA. He will focus on establishing new relationships in the field of partnership, MPI Foundation donations, advertising and sponsorships.
Didier Scaillet, MPI Vice-President of Global Development comments: This is a key strategic appointment for MPI in Europe and is the beginning of an expansion of our operations into the Middle East and Africa. Antonio’s credentials within the hotel industry as well as his past involvement with MPI will add considerable weight and he is expected to play a key role in providing business solutions for our partners.
Antonio obtained a Diploma of Hotel Management School in Italy and started his career as a Hotel Management Trainee. He then moved to the UK and spent 3 years in London with the Savoy Group and Forte Hotels Group. He then returned to Italy in 1990 when he was appointed Director of the Congress Centre at the Park Hotel Ravenna before becoming General Manager of the property. While in Ravenna he also served as President of the Hotelier Association.
Antonio then moved to Monte Carlo in 2001 to work for Le Meridien Hotels and most recently as Area Director of Sales & Marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resort South of France & Monaco, before taking his new role.
He joined MPI in 1995 as a supplier member and very soon became passionate about the organization as a volunteer leader. Antonio served as President of MPI Italia Chapter, member of the European Council, member of the International Membership Committee and was also strongly involved in two PEC-Europe Host Committees (Rimini in 1999 and Monaco in 2005). He has held his CMM designation since 1998.
