Sir John Egan, currently president of the CBI and formerly chief executive of BAA plc, was elected vice-president of the British Hospitality Association at the BHA<.>‘s annual general meeting, held at the London Hilton on Park Lane. He joins Lord Marshall of Knightsbridge as vice-president of the association.

In welcoming the election, Ramon Pajares, BHA president, praised the commitment of the association’s two retiring vice-presidents – Lord Shawcross and Sir Alexander Glen – who had supported the association for many years.

The BHA has always been fortunate in enjoying their strong commitment and distinguished support, he said. At the same time, we are delighted that Sir John has accepted our invitation to become a vice-president of the association. His advice and wise counsel will be greatly valued.
