Aeromar, the Mexican regional airline upgraded its participation in the Worldspan global distribution system (GDS) as the two companies revealed. The airline has implemented Worldspan AccessPLUS(SM) connectivity, utilizing an advanced suite of communications capabilities that provide the airline and Worldspan travel agencies with interactive connectivity and electronic ticketing services on all Aeromar flights.
This new functionality will give Worldspan travel agencies connection to Aeromar`s internal reservations system for up-to-the-minute shopping, pricing, booking and e-ticketing services. Travel agencies will have also access to last-seat availability on the airline`s flights, current pricing and rules, seat maps, and instant bookings and confirmations.
At Aeromar, we are very pleased to provide travel agencies with technology tools that allow them to streamline customer service. They will be able to shop, book and issue e-tickets on 120 flights offered on any of the 25 routes in the Mexican Republic, said Ami Lindenberg, Aeromar`s executive vice president and chief financial officer. Our relationships through Worldspan`s valuable agency network will become stronger through superior connectivity from Worldspan.
Aeromar`s enhanced services through the Worldspan GDS offer immediate and substantial benefits to both Aeromar and Worldspan travel agencies, said Kevin Ficco, Worldspan vice president – Airline Distribution and Business Development. The ability to communicate in real-time and issue e-tickets will create time and cost savings, and enhance the customer buying experience.
