Air Tahiti Nui has announced the further expansion of the airlines code share operations between Australia and Tahiti.

Effective 29th October 2003, Air Tahiti Nui will increase the number of weekly scheduled services between Sydney and Papeete from two, to three services weekly. (Subject to Government approval).

The additional flight will operate via Auckland on Wednesdays, complementing the current Friday departure, and the recently added Sunday departure (from March 30th).

Manager New Zealand/Australia, Mark Hutchinson, said, exceptional sales growth from New Zealand contributed to strong load factors on the route. The availability of new aircraft in the TN fleet, and the strong cargo revenues are two other factors that that tipped the ATN board decision to give the green light for the introduction of the third service. The company is now looking to increase its visibility in the Australian market.

This month ATN acquired two brand new Airbus A340-300 aircraft, bringing the all-new A340-300 fleet to a total of four aircraft. Air Tahiti Nui was the first Trans Pacific carrier to Auckland offering personal in-flight entertainment systems for all customers. Air Tahiti Nui`s IFE system offers 8 movies and 12 interactive games.

Qantas Airways markets code-share capacity on Air Tahiti Nui flights between Auckland, Papeete & Los Angeles.
