The new flight, which will begin thrice-weekly westbound services on Monday, June 18, 2001, will mark Delta`s first service into the United Arab Emirates and will be operated on MD-11 aircraft. It will operate every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
The move makes Delta the first carrier to operate direct flights between Dubai International and JFK and the only American carrier to operate from the UAE, Dubai-headquartered Sharaf Travel will handle sales operations for Delta locally.
Delta flight DL 121 will depart from Dubai International Airport at 07:00 and arrive at New York`s JFK, via Cairo, at 15:30. The return flight DL 120 will depart JFK at 17.35 and arrive in Dubai the following day at 17.15.
This week Delta is exhibiting in its own capacity for the first time at Arabian Travel Market, the Middle East`s foremost travel and tourism show which is running at the Dubai World Trade Centre until Friday night, the stand features seats from Delta`s award- winning BusinessElite service.
