Gulf Air has successfully completed the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and has retained its place on the IOSA Registry as the company stated. “Our listing on this globally accepted and approved registry is a testament to Gulf Air’s ‘safety-first’ philosophy,” says Gulf Air Chief Operating Officer Bjorn Naf. “And we are one hundred percent committed to the highest levels of international safety and quality standards set by IATA in all fields of aviation.”

The IOSA Registry is recognised as a worldwide benchmark for airline safety. Gulf Air conforms to more than 900 standards in eight operational areas, including flight operations, operational control and flight dispatch, aircraft engineering and maintenance, cabin operations, ground handling, cargo operations and operational security.

The IOSA standards are very high and to be included in this registry is a clear message to our customers that operational safety and quality are our primary concern” says Head of Flight Safety and Quality Assurance Captain Manin Al-Said.

Preparing for or completing an IOSA Registration is a condition of IATA membership. IATA represents some 250 airlines comprising of 94 percent of the international scheduled air traffic.

The IOSA programme aims to standardise and promote air safety practices, and is accredited by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) and many aviation authorities around the world.
