US Airways launches flights between the Queen City and Florida’s space coast

US Airways launched year-round service from Charlotte, N.C. to Melbourne, Fla., offering Melbourne customers the ability to connect to more than 125 domestic and international destinations through
the airline’s largest hub. All three daily flights will be operated by wholly owned US Airways Express carrier PSA Airlines, utilizing 70-seat Bombardier CRJ700 regional jets.

"We’re thrilled to be returning to Orlando Melbourne International Airport," said US Airways’ Director, Express Planning, Jason Reisinger. "US Airways now offers Melbourne customers easy one-stop connections to hundreds of destinations and, conversely, offers the rest of the nation easy travel to the Sunshine State’s Space Coast."

Airport Executive Director Richard A. Ennis said US Airways’ return to Melbourne will provide a major boost to the local economy, while expanding the airport’s worldwide reach. "It speaks volumes that the first week of flights from Charlotte is sold out," Ennis said. "It is a clear indication that the public is embracing the return of US Airways to Melbourne."

With service to Melbourne, US Airways flies to 15 destinations in Florida.
