A beer festival is a perfect place to let your hair down and have a bit of fun.

The UK is home to some of the best beer, ale and cider in the world. Pub culture is a big part of the British lifestyle, and locals embrace it across the country. Beer festivals are a fantastic opportunity to try out new beverages and hang out with your loved ones.

Check out local events in your area to see what’s happening this autumn. Beer is more popular than ever – Here are some of the ones throughout the year in the UK.

Cotswold beer festival
Head down south for the Cotswold Beer Festival that has been running for over 40 years. The festival is held by the co-housing community that owns 15 acres of land between Cheltenham and Winchcombe. It is utter paradise around there. Beer is served all day long in the medieval barn and paddock that rests near a stream on the Cotswold Way. Families picnic down the slope and enjoy a little Morris dancing throughout the day. There are more than 80 cask beers available from all over the UK.

The best ones are in summer
There are numerous beer festivals in the UK every summer. The hot weather, fun music and delicious beer truly make summer festivals stand out from the crowd. Catch the Belfast Craft Beer Festival in early June and check out the Gin Garden if you fancy something a bit different. Or visit Manchester for a month-long festival of beers from local breweries. The Northwest has some fantastic breweries, and no one celebrates a festival quite like the Mancunians.

Middle earth beer and music festival
If you’re a fan of the Lord of the Rings, head down to Lancashire’s Ribble Valley for the Middle Earth Beer and Music Festival. There are orcs and elves hidden in the wooden areas, an archery arena, and a theatre performance. You might spot a few fans in cosplay outfits too. Sit back with your northern craft beer and enjoy the music. You can get a day ticket or a weekend camping option.

The big meat and beer festival
Meat and beer lovers need to try out this festival at Sunbury on Thames. It’s a two-day event by The Local Food Festival Company and takes place in August. You can try barbequed, smoked, and huge chunks of meat with a delicious cold one. There will be several meat and beer themed challenges on stage throughout the day, including a man versus food competition.
