What traveling will look like when the pandemic is over

According to reports, holiday bookings are already booting up and people are now expecting that the lockdowns will soon be over because of the vaccines being rolled out. Destination places will more likely get a lot of tourists by then but there could be people too who would travel to be able to see live events like professional sports leagues.

The pandemic is certainly a total nightmare for the travel industry. Just like that, people are no longer allowed to leave their homes let alone going on a plane to travel domestically or internationally. Even today, the travel industry still seems to be far from recovering as the majority of destinations worldwide are still dealing with plenty of travel restrictions.

Even if this is happening, the travel industry remains hopeful and even hopes that travel will boom even more post-pandemic. This is likely to be the case as the pandemic somehow taught many travelers how being able to travel freely is something they might have taken for granted. With this, people are likely to travel more once the pandemic is gone but they might do this more consciously.

According to reports, holiday bookings are already booting up and people are now expecting that the lockdowns will soon be over because of the vaccines being rolled out. Destination places will more likely get a lot of tourists by then but there could be people too who would travel to be able to see live events like professional sports leagues.

Many people miss watching sports events live. They miss being able to check today’s match prediction in India when it comes to the biggest cricket matches or states in the US where huge NBA matches will be held. Today, some sports leagues are already allowing live limited live audiences and many are taking the risks just to be part of a big crowd once again. What more after the pandemic, right? A full stadium will be a site to see.

Will restrictions finally be over soon?
It’s hard to say whether travel restrictions will be lifted any time soon. However, there are already tourist hotspots that are starting to do this like Las Vegas in the United States. AS of June 1, travel restrictions in Las Vegas are lifted and hotels, casinos, and restaurants are now allowed to operate with full capacity.

Vaccinated tourists are also allowed to go out maskless but public transportation and certain places might still require them. However, the ones who are not yet vaccinated will have to wear face coverings at all times. Still, it’s is good to know that the City of Sin will now be able to go back to its glory days. With hotels and casinos ditching the Plexi glasses and floor guide to ensure social distancing.

So what now?
What’s happening in Las Vegas is something that we might soon see when visiting other travel destinations. However, there may be other trends too that travelers might be looking to do when they can freely travel once again.

Sustainability could be a strong driving force when the health crisis is over. Concerned people are now demanding responsible travel policies and surely, the industry will respond accordingly. The pandemic has just really opened the eyes of many when it comes to this matter. Certain measures in consideration of sustainability could be more available soon.

More people are also likely to travel to smaller communities. Travel blogger Caz Makepeace spoke about this and said that her family has always traveled to lesser-known places rather than racing through destinations. She said that it is a good way to support small places. Doing this after the pandemic could help these small places recover.

Another travel blogger, Kate Newman of Travel for Difference, is encouraging people to go global south. She said, “We need to diversify our locations to avoid mass tourism and focus on the places that need it. Seeing so many communities suffer during COVID-19 has brought [this issue] to light.

People could also choose to travel closer to home. Well, this might be something that could happen most when lockdown restrictions are already gone. People might start to travel slowly and prioritize visiting relatives, friends, and families close to home.

Traveling Mitch’s Chris Mitchell said that even as simple as being able to go out of our homes may already be considered as traveling during these trying times. He said, “When we compare everything to being locked up indefinitely in our respective towers, a walk to the park can feel like travel. Now people are willing to see the magic in a meal on a patio at a restaurant down the street.”

Overall, the traveling scene is still a bit dull at the moment but even if we’re unsure when the recovery will take place, what’s sure is that we will get there. Especially now that vaccines are being rolled out worldwide.
