Asia’s leading International Travel Expo (ITE) & the MICE, Business & Incentive Travel Expo (ITE MICE) to be held concurrently in China’s richest city of Hong Kong in Jun every year!
Though Hong Kong has only a population of 7 million, it ranked fourth in Asia by international tourism expenditure at US$14 billion in 2006 by UNWTO, after Japan, mainland China (US$24.3 billion) and South Korea. In fact, Hong Kong residents made 80.7 million departures in 2007, with some 5 million to abroad and over 20 million overnight trips to mainland China. In addition, English is being widely spoken and is also an official language in Hong Kong, and the citizens of Hong Kong can travel to over 130 countries without the need of visa.
The travel expos are among those few trade fairs in Asia that maintain two professional days. ITE & ITE MICE08 drew 12900 trade and corporate visitors. Among them, 20% came from mainland China and 15% from abroad mostly from Asia; 6800 are travel agents or tour operators and 3700 corporate visitors. Public visitors of ITE & ITE MICE, who totaled 57500 this year, are seasoned and sophisticated travelers, so the Travel Expo covers well Hong Kong, mainland China and Asia market.
In 2008, there’re over 650 exhibitors came from 50 countries and regions, and of the 43 official pavilions present over half of them from Africa, Americas, Europe and the Middle East. Increasingly, more exhibitors bring travel products on themes like hot spring & spa, family travel, cruise, adventure, golfing, skiing, diving and culture etc.
Being the only travel expo in Hong Kong, the next ITE will be held from 11 to 14 Jun 2009 while the concurrent ITE MICE, which focus on MICE and Incentive Travel, will be held from 11 – 13 June 2009 in the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Altogether, they will occupy Hall 1A – 1E of HKCEC, which provide 20000sqm of space.
ITE & ITE MICE are supported by the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, which all local travel agents by law are its members.
Services for exhibitors, some optional but many are free, include assistance to hold trade seminars and functions, online access to our hosted buyers, attending buyers-meet-sellers sessions, and online distribution of press releases to media etc.
