Along with the launch of the FITUR 4all section, the first awards will be announced at FITUR to recognise efforts in the development of inclusive tourism.
MADRID – The International Tourism Trade Fair, FITUR, in collaboration with Impulsa Igualdad, announces the opening of the first edition of the FITUR 4all 2024 Awards, which recognise the efforts of destinations, companies and institutions in the development and promotion of accessibility in the industry. Its vocation is to give visibility, thank and encourage commitment in moving towards inclusive tourism.
The FITUR 4all Awards will be presented in four categories:National Destination, International Destination, Inclusive Tourism Company and Inclusive Organisation or Institution. Exhibitors, co-exhibitors or collaborating entities of FITUR 2024 may apply until 10 January 2024 by filling a form together with the documentary evidence specified and will be assessed by a jury made up of experts in tourism, accessibility and inclusion.
Inclusive National Destination and Inclusive International Destination, recognising those destinations that stand out for the development of accessible tourism in their territory, as well as their impact on fostering inclusive tourism. Both categories will be marked on issues such as innovation in the project’s design and implementation, its potential to facilitate inclusion and accessibility, the positive impact it has on the tourism sector and the consistency and sustainability of the proposals.
In the Inclusive Tourism Company category, the award will go to the organisation that has developed an outstanding project in products or services in the field of accessibility, with a positive impact on the inclusion of people with accessibility needs in the tourism activity. Finally, recognition will be awarded to the Inclusive Organisation or Institutionthat has successfully promoted initiatives that embrace collaboration, awareness-raising and implementation of inclusive policies. In these aspects, the scope of these initiatives will be particularly assessed, as they are projects with a wide degree of impact, as well as the awareness-raising among the industry and public resulting from the action of the organisation or institution in terms of its capacity to promote, exemplify and/or educate with regard to inclusion.
The winners will receive a diploma and a trophy, which will be awarded at the Fitur 4all Awards ceremony at FITUR 2024 at IFEMA MADRID. In addition, they will receive a seal that can be used in physical and digital media.
