A hotel firmly anchored on the Atlantic coast

The Cote Ouest Hotel from the MGallery by Sofitel Collection invites you to experience the nautical life… on dry land.

If you love the peace and relaxation of a sea cruise but don't really have good sea legs, then the Cote Ouest Hotel is perfect for you! Located on France's Atlantic coast, this hotel, which recently joined the MGallery by Sofitel Collection, marvellously captures all the charm and elegance of the 1930s ocean liners.

Made famous by the traditional Vendee Globe round-the-world single-handed yacht race, the seaside town of Les Sables d’Olonne is synonymous with sailing and pleasure boating. With its captivating landscape comprised of sand dunes, marshes and forests, each year France's Cote de Lumiere welcomes sea-loving tourists but also those keen to explore its vast natural environment.

Dreaming of a cruise?
In the heart of this region, along the coast, each day the Cote Ouest Hotel from the MGallery by Sofitel Collection invites you to experience the nautical life… on dry land. From the moment they walk through the door, guests could be forgiven for thinking that they are on an ocean liner dating from the 1930s. In the hall we find large vintage studded trunks, an incredible map printed on aged paper, authentic items from the legendary ocean liners and comfortable Chesterfield armchairs, all awaiting our guests in a warm, woody atmosphere.

Upstairs, the bedrooms are referred to as cabins! With its soft, warm colours, the decor continues this maritime theme, including a lighthouse printed on the bedside rug, a mirror shaped like a porthole, while the walls are adorned with reproductions of works by the English painter Rob Stribley (a specialist in ocean liner prints). Definitely a feature guaranteed to warm our guests’ hearts! Outdoors, the balconies are designed to be reminiscent of the bridge on an ocean liner, their wooden boards warmed by the sun.

And if names like the Queen Mary, the France or the Normandie bring to mind some of the finest French liners, at the Cote Ouest hotel these names are those of three brightly lit meeting rooms, leading out onto an outdoor terrace. What could be more reinvigorating than a meeting which allows you to breathe in the fresh sea air!

As is customary, the brand takes good care of its guests. After having enjoyed a touch of pampering and well-being in one of the spa booths looking out to sea or tried the seawater treatments in the Fitness & Hydration area, it's now time for guests to treat their taste buds too. In a superb decor reminiscent of an old-time harbour, the Chef Thomas Evanno proposes a menu full of local flavour.

In short, the Cote Ouest hotel is a genuine ocean liner on dry land, where guests can really live the dream, imagining themselves on a transatlantic cruise.
