Plenty appointments have been taken place in Delta Hotels & Resorts` corporate office. In particular, Dana Ceponis returns to Delta’s marketing department as executive director of marketing, handling all aspects of marketing communciations and brand development. Previously, Ceponis was director of product development for the brand’s operations division. During her three years handling this function, she successfully developed and launched key national programs such as Delta Meeting Maestros. Ceponis first joined the company in 1993.



Tracy Cosgrove, regional director of sales for Atlantic Canada, assumes additional responsibilities in 2007 when she begins to handle the Quebec portfolio. Based in Halifax, Cosgrove brings over 19 years’ experience as director of sales and marketing for sister properties Delta Barrington and Delta Halifax (2002-2005), director of sales and marketing at Le Fairmont Chateau Montebello (Quebec), The Fairmont Chateau Laurier (Ottawa) and The Fairmont Empress Hotel (Victoria), for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, and director of conference sales at Whistler Convention Centre.



Lucy Dias is now Delta’s director of sales training and development. In this newly created position, Dias will focus largely on customized training and development initiatives for Delta’s 120-strong sales force, while also developing accounts in the business travel market. With Delta Hotels since 1998, Dias has more than 15 years of hospitality industry experience, including global sales at Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Most recently an associate director of sales and training at downtown Toronto’s Delta Chelsea, Dias is a graduate of the Adult Learning and Development Program at The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto and is fully accredited to teach Insights’ Quest for Sales Professionals training program.



Frank Di Rocco is the company’s director of national sales. He was previously the director of sales and marketing at Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Centre, a position he held since 2001. Di Rocco first joined the Mississauga 398-room resort in 1994 as a sales manager, before becoming director of group sales. This 18-year veteran’s career was launched in 1989 with a sales position at Toronto’s Holiday Inn, Yorkdale location.



Paul Gardian has been promoted to the position of executive director of brand operations, a new and more expansive role within the company, in which he will oversee all aspects of product and service delivery and the total “guest experience.” Previously, Gardian held the title of executive director of guest experience and rooms. With Delta Hotels for 15 years, Paul Gardian began his career with the brand in 1992 as director of rooms at downtown Toronto’s Delta Chelsea. Gardian is a graduate of Ryerson University’s School of Hospitalty and Tourism Program.



Ricardo Nicholas has been promoted to director of franchise operations, acting as the chief liaison with franchise hotel owners. Previously, Nicholas was manager of franchise operations. With Delta Hotels since 1999, Nicholas has over 20 years’ industry experience including senior positions at Toronto-area Sheraton and Renaissance hotels in the rooms and operations divisions.



Christine Slade has joined Delta’s sales operations group as a sales operations analyst. Previously at Toronto’s Delta Chelsea, since 2001, Slade brings an extensive knowledge of reservations and the Delphi systems that will benefit the portfolio. She is a graduate of the Univerity of Guelph’s Hotel and Food Administration Program.



Linda Southard has been promoted to executive director of design and construction, where she will continue to provide techinical expertise in the areas of capital planning, hotel refurbishment and maintenance projects, interior design, F.F.& E. and project management. With extensive international experience in design and construction, including 12 years as interior designer and principal of Vancouver-based Mainland Design Group Limited, Southard joined the former Fairmont Hotels and Resorts in 1998, before transferring to Delta Hotels in 2001 to head up its design and construction unit.
