ETA Star, a property developer in the UAE, has awarded contracts worth AED half-billion for two of its projects located at the heart of Jumeirah Lake Towers – GoldCrest Executive and GoldCrest Views-2. Dubai-based Al Meraikhi bagged the AED 250-million main contract for GoldCrest Views-2. ETA Star has completed the pile foundations and handed over the site to Al Meraikhi. The project is scheduled for completion by March-2008.

The main contract for GoldCrest Executive was finalized with ASCON-Al Aweer joint venture for AED 220 million. The pile foundation work is complete and the super-structure work commenced this month, with the completion date set for June 2008.

“The award of contracts paves the way for timely commencement of construction on the superstructure for GoldCrest Executive and GoldCrest Views-2, which will be two landmark projects at the Jumeirah Lake Towers,” said Abid A. Junaid, Executive Director at ETA Star. “ETA Star’s properties are defined by their uncompromising construction quality and structural integrity, and awarding the main packages to reputed contractors like Al Meraikhi and ASCON-Al Aweer will ensure that the projects are built on time and to the best of standards”.

“The contract finalization was preceded by a comprehensive evaluation of the submitted bids, in order to ensure the project specifications are strictly adhered to and the contractors meet the exacting time schedule set forth for construction. The fact that Al Meraikhi and ASCON-Al Aweer both have a proven track record and measured up suitably to all parameters weighed the award in their favor” Junaid added. “We are committed to ensure that both GoldCrest Executive and GoldCrest Views-2 bear ETA Star’s stamp of quality through the various construction stages, and will see to it that the projects are delivered to customers on time.”

ETA Star also awarded the sub-contracts for GoldCrest Executive to various companies. ETA-Melco was awarded the lift package contract while the aluminum and glazing contracts were awarded to Arabian Aluminum. The electro-mechanical and plumbing works were awarded to BK Gulf while the post-tension contracts were given to D. Haddad.
