Four Points by Sheraton Bangor Airport is refreshed, following $9m. renovation

Four Points by Sheraton Bangor Airport boasts a whole new look following the completion of a $9 million renovation in April 2009. Located in Bangor, Maine, the property made significant upgrades to its lobby, restaurant, guest rooms and exterior as part of the Four Points by Sheraton global revitalization campaign. In the past five years, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) and its licensees have invested more than $1 billion in Four Points by Sheraton hotels with major property renovations, conversion and new-build hotels. 70 percent of the Four Points portfolio has turned over in the last five years due to strategic efforts to improve the quality and consistency of the hotels.

As a key part of its renovation, Four Points by Sheraton Bangor Maine completely redesigned and expanded its restaurant, Godfrey’s Grille and Lounge. Popular among guests and locals, the restaurant features exciting new menus featuring fresh, native seafood prepared by the hotel’s new executive chef, as well as all-new furnishings, china and silver. A new double-sided fireplace installed in the lobby also faces the restaurant, creating a comfortable, inviting atmosphere.

The hotel also added a brand-new indoor pool and fitness center, improved signage on the hotel’s exterior, and enhanced energy efficiency by switching to natural gas. The upgraded lobby and Family Room create the perfect setting for guests to socialize, grab a cup of fresh coffee and pop open their laptops to use the hotel’s, free high-speed Internet. Ideal for both corporate and social functions, the hotel’s expanded and renovated meeting facilities now offer 2,982 square feet of space and include five meeting rooms and an executive boardroom.

“Four Points by Sheraton Bangor Airport is a great representation of the brand’s revitalized contemporary look and feel. We are delighted to unveil our newly expanded restaurant and upgraded facilities, all designed to create an open, relaxing setting,” said Vivian Cammack, General Manager, Four Points by Sheraton Bangor Airport. “We strive to provide guests with everything they want and need – spacious guestrooms, comfortable beds, and an engaging atmosphere.”

The hotel’s 111 refreshed guest rooms feature the brand’s clean, contemporary furnishings with bold, colorful artwork. Rooms are outfitted with brand-new, flat screen televisions, new bathrooms and the Four Points by Sheraton Four Comfort Bed, a luxurious ensemble including a plush mattress, an assortment of pillows, and stylish duvet. In their rooms, guests enjoy free bottled water and complimentary high-speed Internet is available throughout the property.

Attached to the Bangor International Airport via an enclosed walkway, Four Points by Sheraton Bangor Airport is ideally located. Nearby attractions include the University of Maine, Bangor Auditorium, Bangor Civic Center, and a variety of shops and restaurants.
