Hotel chain opens up-market

Lena Capsis of the Capsis<.> Hotel Chain enters the new millennium with a new philosophy: Open boutique hotels that are housed in unique buildings and then offer services that attract high-income travelers. So far, Ms. Capsis has invested in units in Athens and Thessaloniki.
The Athens Capsis, a neo-classical building next to the National Theater near the popular Omonia Square area, will boast 80 four-star beds when renovations are completed at the end of 2000.
The unit in Thessaloniki, the Capsis Bristol, which was the city`s old post office, will house 22 five-star suites and will begin operation sometime near the close of this millennium.
Another new unit created by the Capsis chain is the five-star hotel Capsis Fitraki Manor at Heraklion. The chain boasts additional hotel units in Thessaloniki, Heraklion and Gouves with a total capacity of 1,700 beds.
