Marriott Hotels & Resorts and GOOD Worldwide announce contest to make an entrepreneur's dreams come true

Marriott Hotels & Resorts has been reimagining the guest experience, transforming lobbies and public spaces by designing them for a new generation of business travelers who blend work and play, demand style and substance, and desire high tech and high touch.

BETHESDA, MD. – Marriott Hotels & Resorts, the signature brand of Marriott International and GOOD Worldwide, a leading community-driven platform, are announcing the Work and Play in L.A. GOOD Maker Challenge. It is an opportunity for a winning entrepreneur to learn from experts and transform a great idea into a viable business venture. Now through, January 11, 2013, the brightest minds in the country can submit their most creative startup ideas on the GOOD website. Once the submission period closes, the public will be given the chance to vote on the winning idea.

The winner will travel to Los Angeles for a week to tap into the know-how at GOOD, including its founders. The winner will be hosted by the Marina del Rey Marriott where he or she will be able to fine tune their business plan by taking advantage of the property’s Greatroom, which offers the new generation of travelers spaces designed for individual work, as well as small group collaborations. The whirlwind week concludes with a celebratory reception at the hotel for the winner, who will present the refined and final business plan to VIP guests.

It’s especially exciting that the winner of this challenge will be working with us directly to utilize the resources GOOD has to offer, like graphic designers, curators and video producers during their time in the office,” said GOOD founder, Ben Goldhirsh. “Working with Marriott on the contest made perfect sense. They have a heritage of introducing innovations, such as their Greatrooms, that are now industry standards.”
