New developments at Corsican retreat The Domaine de Murtoli this Autumn

A new golf couse compliments the range of autumn activities available on the estate which include river and sea fishing, riding, boating, mountain biking and Corsican cooking.

The Domaine de Murtoli
, the stylish private estate on the south west coast of Corsica is opening a new 11 hole Kyle Phillips golf course this October. The new couse compliments the range of autumn activities available on the estate which include river and sea fishing, riding, boating, mountain biking and Corsican cooking. Autumn is a good time to visit Corsica as the weather stays warm until the end of October.

Murtoli has seventeen farmhouses, sleeping between two and twelve, dotted around a traditional Corsican farm and hunting estate covering nearly 5,000 acres. All houses have access to the main 3km sandy beach where there are sun-beds, a beach bar and restaurant.

The houses are converted bergeries, which are simply, but stylishly furnished with low roofs and thick cool walls, big well equipped kitchens and large shady outdoor dining and sitting areas. Some of the houses are high in the hills with views out to sea. Three have unique access to a private sandy creek with a set of small wooden decks, lounging and massage areas and a private bar.  Breakfast is delivered every morning to each house.

The new golf course has been designed to respect the contours of the undulating landscape, with no artificial terracing and leaving the olive groves and fields of wild Corsican curry still intact. The 11 holes, with views of the sea and the mountains, can be played in 30 unique combinations.

The estate offers good deep sea and river fishing with knowledgeable guides on hand. In the autumn there is fario trout in the Ortolo River and tuna, swordfish, snapper, sea bream and albacore tuna in the sea. Other seasonal activities offered at different times throughout the year include archery, driftwood sculpture, Nordic walking, chees making and orienteering.
