RCI announced the appointment of David Evans as vice president, legal and government relations. Evans will be responsible for the handling of various legal matters pertaining to RCI, primarily focusing on government relations and the interpretation of and compliance with all legislative and regulatory matters affecting RCI`s business globally.This includes monitoring and tracking all new and potential legislation and regulations as well as participating in the drafting of new legislation and regulations impacting RCI. He will report to Ilese Flamm, RCI`s senior vice-president and general counsel and will be based in Washington D.C.
For the past three years Evans has held the position of senior legislative and corporate counsel for the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), representing the timeshare industry and serving as the administrator of ARDA`s ethics programs.
Prior to ARDA, Evans served as associate general counsel for Sunterra Resorts where his responsibilities included the supervision of timeshare real estate regulation programs, advertising and marketing review, and supervision of corporate government relations programs.
Evans received his juris doctorate from Stetson University College of Law, and a bachelor`s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee.
