Panorama ranks as Canada's most expensive ski resort

The survey determined the 20 priciest ski resorts in North America based on the cost of their lodging.

PANORAMA, BRITISH COLUMBIA – Panorama Mountain Village, located in the Purcell Mountains of southeastern British Columbia, is the most expensive ski resort in Canada according to a new survey from TravelMag.com. The survey determined the 20 priciest ski resorts in North America based on the cost of their lodging.

For each resort, the survey specifically established the average amount an overnight guest will have to pay to stay in the least expensive double room during February and March 2015. These main months for ski tourism render them suitable for comparative purposes. Only those hotels or condos with at least a 3-star rating and those located within the respective resorts have been considered by the survey.

With an average cost of $167 per night, the Panorama Resort ranks priciest among all Canadian ski resorts. In North America, however, it is only 13th most expensive, and it looks quite affordable in comparison to the most expensive U.S. resorts.

Beaver Creek and Vail, both in Colorado, lead the rankings with average rates of $304 and $294, respectively. Utah’s Snowbird resort takes the third spot on the survey with an average nightly rate of $279 for the most affordable double room.

Three more resorts in Canada made it into the Top 20 list. They are Kicking Horse, Big White and the famous Whistler Mountain resort, ranking 15th, 18th and 19th most expensive in North America, respectively.
