The creation of a true spa resort at le Meridien Limassol, Cyprus

The highly successful Le Meridien<.> Limassol, in its aim to become the leading resort in the Eastern Mediterranean, will be opening next summer an indoor/outdoor Thalassotherapy Health Spa with a difference!
In conjunction with the management of Forte Village in Sardinia (another Le Meridien Resort) it will construct, on the lines of the popular Thermae Del Parco, and operate this special facility to the highest standards.
It will consist of 4 outdoor sea water pools, each with a different salinity content and temperature, a Hammam, Saunas and Whirlpools as well as an Aquarium Plunge pool, a heated fresh water pool, an Algaeotherapy Centre and 11 Treatment Rooms. Specialist consultants will be available to advise guests on what treatments they should take and special health menus will also be available. The whole spa will be surrounded by another free form fresh water pool featuring waterfalls and grottos, the largest seawater pool on the island and an inland lagoon with a speciality restaurant.
The main architects of this project are the London office of Wimberly, Allison, Tong and Goo, the creators of Lost City in South Africa and the landscaping is being coordinated by James Nicolay of Honolulu, who has designed the gardens of various Shangri-La Hotels in the Far East among others…
Parallel to this, a new Recreation Centre will be created, next to the Penguin Village, with 2 new floodlit tennis courts and a multi-purpose all weather training pitch for football, volleyball, basketball, etc. The highly popular Penguin Village Children`s Club will itself receive a waterslide and another climbing apparatus in order to keep the children happy!
All this will be complemented by the refurbishment of 13 Garden Villa Suites and the addition of a private pool and terrace for their exclusive use, as well as individual pools for a further 4 Garden Villa Suites, so that the hotel can meet the ever increasing demand for personal service with all-in facilities. This follows on from the upgrading last winter of the hotel`s two Fifth Floor Presidential Suites with their own private pools, which have been enjoying extremely high occupancies ever since.
Earlier this year the hotel opened La Sirene Night Club, the only one of its kind in Cyprus, with top singers and dancers from as far as Canada and Cuba as well as nearer home.
With the addition of this impressive array of facilities, the hotel will be renamed Le Meridien Limassol Spa & Resort as it becomes the ultimate spa resort dedicated to health, relaxation, therapy and beauty.
