The new Loews Regency San Francisco joins ALHI

Loews Regency San Francisco is Loews’ only hotel in San Francisco and is just the second to bear the revered Loews “Regency” name, joining the esteemed 379-room Loews Regency New York on Park Avenue, also a member of ALHI’s distinguished portfolio.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The iconic and recently renovated Loews Regency San Francisco has been accepted as the newest member of the prestigious portfolio of Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI). Formerly known as the Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco before its acquisition by Loews Hotels & Resorts in April 2015, the landmark hotel features an ideal location in the heart of San Francisco in the city’s Financial District, and provides breathtaking views of San Francisco Bay and the city. The ALHI Global Sales Organization (GSO) now represents the elegant hotel to North American meeting professionals, association executives, business executives, and incentive specialists interested in conducting meetings and/or incentive programs at the hotel. The announcement was made by ALHI President Jim Schultenover.

Loews Regency San Francisco is Loews’ only hotel in San Francisco and is just the second to bear the revered Loews “Regency” name, joining the esteemed 379-room Loews Regency New York on Park Avenue, also a member of ALHI’s distinguished portfolio. Loews Regency San Francisco becomes ALHI’s fourth Member hotel in San Francisco, joining the sophisticated and distinctive 532-room Hotel Nikko San Francisco; the AAA Four-Diamond, 383-room InterContinental Mark Hopkins poised at the crest of Nob Hill; and the 32-story, 550-room InterContinental San Francisco, adjacent to the Moscone West Convention Center.

Other exceptional nearby ALHI Member hotels and resorts in California include: the AAA Four-Diamond The Meritage Resort and Spa, surrounded by the rolling hills and hillside vineyards in Napa; the acclaimed Resort at Squaw Creek in the heart of the Sierra, in Olympic Valley (Lake Tahoe); and the renowned Pebble Beach Resorts of the luxurious The Inn at Spanish Bay, the world-class The Lodge at Pebble Beach, and the exquisite Casa Palmero.

Situated on the top 11 floors of a 48-story tower, Loews Regency San Francisco provides incredible unobstructed views and a prime location in the dynamic city’s Financial District, close to the city’s best restaurants, shopping, cultural and entertainment centers, and walking distance to Union Square, Chinatown and the Ferry Building. Combining natural beauty, timeless design, and modern amenities, the hotel provides 155 elegant and recently renovated guest rooms and suites. The contemporary-style hotel also offers over 5,000 square feet of meeting space across five distinctive meeting rooms, as well as the city’s highest event space (on the 40th floor Sky Deck). Other hotel highlights include a 24-hour fitness center and spa with three treatment rooms, the popular Brasserie S&P restaurant and bar, a 24-hour business center, and state-of-the art technology and A/V support. The hotel is conveniently located just 25 minutes from San Francisco International Airport.

“The San Francisco market is hotter than ever for meetings and group programs, and we are very pleased to add the exceptional Loews Regency San Francisco to our Membership to address this growing demand,” said Schultenover. “The hotel features an ideal location in a beautiful city that has tremendous appeal for planners and their attendees. We look forward to sharing the details of this fine hotel to the meetings & incentive marketplace.”

In addition to its Membership in ALHI’s worldwide portfolio, Loews Regency San Francisco becomes the newest option in ALHI’s “City Solutions” specialty segment, which now consists of 58 outstanding options in the most distinctive metropolitan areas around the world. It also becomes a new Member hotel in ALHI’s “U-200 Gems Collection” specialty segment, which now provides 22 small-yet-dazzling hotels that feature fewer than 200 guest rooms and which specialize in serving the small meetings and incentive marketplace. While the new Loews Regency San Francisco is not yet AAA rated, all anticipation is it will be a Five-Diamond hotel, and will be part of ALHI’s impressive “Level 5 Collection” specialty segment.
