Miami Beach, FL – The Raleigh, the boutique hotel known as the “Grande Dame” of South Beach, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael MacDonnell as director of food and beverage. MacDonnell brings more than two decades of experience as one of the industry’s top experts in mixology and service to the historic property. He joins Chef Joshua Elliott to complete the culinary leadership team.

Throughout his career MacDonnell has opened and operated over 40 concepts across the nation and brings a wealth of knowledge to The Raleigh. Prior to moving to Miami, MacDonnell was highly regarded for his work in Las Vegas with properties including Bellagio, The Light Group and Monte Carlo Resort & Casino where he served as director of beverage.
MacDonnell has received accolades throughout his career including the distinction of “Best Bar Menu” by Vegas Seven and top five influential food and beverage professionals in Las Vegas. He has also been prominently featured in the media including a full segment on the TODAY Show where he demonstrated the art of classic American cocktails.
The Raleigh is owned by The Raleigh Group and managed by sbe. MacDonnell will split his time between The Raleigh and neighboring sbe property, Townhouse, where he recently launched K Ramen. Burger. Beer. and The Cape.
