TravelC was the winner of the XXI entrepreneur 2016, mentoring initiative towards startups promoted by “La Caixa” and co granted by Enisa.
PALMA DE MAJORCA – “la Caixa” has lead the one million euros funding round in the company TravelC. The company develops a technological platform that allows the creation, quote and book taylor made trips in seconds. It also gives the opportunity to coordinate all services and providers all in one session, one transactions and payment
The platform reduces the search and booking time, reducing the costs of the travel supply chain, offering a differential product that does not exist in the market. The TravelC solution brings improvements to all the touristic chain, for the online travel agencies, offering a multi booking system making them go a step ahead regarding the standard product of flight and hotel; to the Tour Operators and traditional travel agencies making them increase their efficiency saving costs in comparison with the existing tools; to the hotel chains that can have their own booking portal with dynamic packages; to the transport companies, tourism boards, DMC’S etc, and also the final user that has the freedom to create their own customized packages, saving time in the process of creating a multi destination trip. The company bases their business in the license sale to their corporate clients and charging a commission over each sale.
TravelC, based in the Parc Bit of Palma de Majorca, started their activity in mid September of 2014 and is led by Manuel Aragones and Vicente Rossello, both with a vast experience in the touristic and technology sector. The company started implanting the software in July 2015 has now more than 70 clients in 25 countries and closed 2015, Travel C won the Emprendedor XXI award like best Spanish start up from years 2014-15
The funding round reaches one million euros and is addressed to strengthen the market deployment in the United States and consolidate the commercial actions in Europe and develop new technology improvements.
Coinciding with this operation, TravelC has take over Hotelerum, founded in 2010 within the accelerator Inspirit. The company that develops an integral solution for the hotel booking management will be integrated as a subsidiary of TravelC, operating under their own brand. This will result in commercial synergy increase and the combinations of two teams with wide knowledge in the sector. Also , Venturecap and Inspirit, Hotelerum former owners, will also be shareholders of TravelC
The Travel Tourism and leisure industry is increasing but… The sale of trips and touristic services in the world is always increasing, the previsions show that by 2030 there will be than 2000 million, according to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Equally important is the online trade increase, and to be more precise the online travel bookings that has a constant increase worldwide. But the multi destination reservations bookings still to be made by agencies and offline due to the lack of flexibility of the current tools, that don’t allow the combination of several flights or trains with hotels and activities in the same booking.
