Warwick International Hotels is investing $7 million U.S. to expand its Naviti Resort on the South Pacific island of Fiji with the construction of 84 rooms and 16 bures, known as villas in North America, along with a new swimming pool complex. Completion is set for the end of 2005.

“The Naviti Resort is nestled between an azure lagoon and the rugged hills of Fiji’s famous Coral Coast,” said Warwick’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing G. Paul LeBlanc, “and is situated on 38 acres of lush, tropical land adjacent to its own private island.”

“These are just a few of our latest improvements at the Naviti Resort to further enhance our corporate theme of ‘A Touch of Excellence,” LeBlanc explained. “Last year, we completed the Joy Spa with its captivating view of the Pacific Ocean, and in July we opened the Bamboo Terrace Restaurant which specializes in Cantonese and Mandarin cuisine.” This expansion will bring the resort’s total of air-conditioned rooms and villas to 240, in addition to offering a 9-hole, par 3 golf course and four floodlit tennis courts.

The Naviti Resort is the only full-sized resort in Fiji offering travelers an “All Inclusive” package. Guests have the choice of ocean or mountain view rooms and a full list of amenities. These include all meals, unlimited local spirits and beers, unlimited house wines and soft drinks, free entry to the popular Firewalking Show or another Fiji cultural show and one free 30-minute massage per room. A free Sigatoka Shopping Tour is also included that features visits to a produce market and village shops offering souvenirs, artwork and local pottery, and duty free shopping. As part of the “All Inclusive” package guest receive a late checkout time, and children 12 and younger stay and eat for free.

Guests also have the option of choosing an “A La Carte” package for customizing the room and meal package they desire.

A family oriented resort, The Naviti Resort is located on the sun swept beaches of the Coral Coast, midway between Nadi International Airport and the capital city of Suva. Warwick International Hotels began its association with the island of Fiji with the purchase of the former Hyatt Regency Fiji, now the Warwick Fiji, in December 1979 and the Naviti Resort in 1988. The Warwick Collection also includes Le Lagon Resort in Vanuatu.

The Naviti Resort expansion is part of an improvement and renovation program undertaken by Warwick International Hotels over the past few years that includes sites in Paris, Brussels, Geneva, New York, Denver, and San Francisco.
