Central Europe can boast four of the world’s major Professional Tour Events

Golf in Central Europe

With the announcement that the PGA European tour is to schedule four events in Central Europe in 2009, including an inaugural  one in the Czech Republic and a further three in Austria and Germany, this is a unique and exciting kick start for golf tourism in Central Europe. For too long Central Europe has been one of golf’s hidden secrets but with major golf events in Germany, the Mercedes–Benz staged in Cologne and the BMW in Munich, Central Europe can boast four of the world’s major Professional Tour Events.

The Fontana golf and sports club close to Vienna will host the Austrian Open from  11 – 14 June 2009. This wonderful club with the most eloquent recreational facilities is the perfect venue for the Austrian Open and a wonderful showcase for Austrian golf courses.

The Czech Open a new event on the tours schedule will be staged at the Prosper Golf club situated in the Moravian- Silesia region of the Czech Republic one of the most beautiful regions of the country. The club, set amidst forests, mountains and protected natural reserves is the perfect setting for this international event. The course designed by Miquel Angel Jimenez, a major figure on the European tour, will be a great challenge for the worlds leading professional players and an exciting  venue for the TV cameras to show the world that golf in Central Europe is no longer a hidden secret.
