The Australian dollar has recently performed very well against foreign currencies. According to online travel experts Jetabroad this will be a great advantage to Australians looking to travel abroad. The dollar has achieved parity with the US dollar and is also sitting in a position of strength against numerous other currencies. Information from Commonwealth Bank shows good exchanges between currencies in China, Norway, Tonga, Vietnam and Britain and many other countries. Analysts at the Commonwealth Bank expect the dollar to remain high for a significant period of time.

Information from the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows that Australians are travelling more in recent months. The latest numbers show short-term departures in September up 12.6% over a similar period last year. This follows a steady increase of departures throughout July and August. The strong dollar has definitely affected this and helped boost numbers.
