U.S. TMC Directravel renews partnership with Travelport

Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, announces that Directravel, a leading corporate U.S. travel management company, has signed a new long-term agreement. This new multi-year deal extends a 15-year relationship with Directravel, based in Mahwah, NJ with regional offices in New York City; Scranton, PA; Chicago, IL; and San Francisco and secures access to Travelport’s Apollo platform offering extensive air, land and sea travel content.

Pat Fragale, president, Directravel said, “Travelport has been a big part of our growing business and success over the years. Travelport has also been quick to lend support in their areas of expertise such as server hosting that ensures 100% uptime through the Travelport Network Operations Center.”

Added Fragale, “Travelport began a program to help Directravel increase their efficiency in their process of booking hotels and cars. The focus was on training and ensuring that all hotel and car rates were loaded into the GDS. With Travelport’s guidance, the number of hotels and cars booked within the GDS has grown substantially. We are also excited about the launch of the Travelport Universal Desktop.”

Scott Hyden, vice president, U.S. Sales, Travelport GDS, commented, “It is great news to have secured a new long-term deal with Directravel. We will continue to work hard by fostering this important partnership and by providing the travel business services that enable Directravel to succeed. Under this agreement, we are delighted to continue to serve as their GDS business partner of choice and to help them achieve an even higher level of performance.”
