Alex Herron will be leading all PR and Social Media accounts, bringing luxury hospitality and high profile tourism board experience.
SAN DIEGO, CA – Full service, integrated marketing agency 62ABOVE welcomes tourism and hospitality public relations leader, Alex Herron, as its Director of Public Relations and Social Media. Herron will take on the role of overseeing the strategy and execution of integrated public relations and social media initiatives for agency clients.
With an extensive international background in luxury hospitality and tourism, Herron was most recently Director of Marketing at Marriott International’s SLS Hotel Beverly Hills where he led global marketing efforts. Prior to joining the hotel world, Herron worked as the Director of International Communications for the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board, overseeing multi-million dollar budgets and helping to draw record numbers of international tourists into the city.
Originally from the UK, Herron began his career in journalism in Cambridge before emigrating to Shanghai in China where he worked as Editor-in-Chief for a publishing group then making the move into public relations at the global communications firm, H+K Strategies. With over 15 years of public relations experience Herron will bring innovative, strategic leadership to 62ABOVE’s growing PR and Social Media division.
