Aeroflot expands fleet with new 777-300ER

The 777-300ER is configured in a three-class arrangement, with business-, economy- and comfort-class salons.

MOSCOW – Aeroflot has taken delivery of a new Boeing 777-300ER named in honour of Ivan Bunin, the Russian writer, poet and critic who was the first Russian Nobel Prize winner for Literature. This is the sixth aircraft of an order for sixteen B777.

The 777-300ER is configured in a three-class arrangement, with business-, economy- and comfort-class salons. Aeroflot’s comfort class has been designed with a focus on price and quality, and includes a number of attractive features such as increased leg room, an upgraded on-board menu, additional baggage room and more Aeroflot Bonus reward miles. On Aeroflot’s winter timetable the new 777-300ER will fly on routes to Sochi, Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Phuket.

Features of the 777-300ER include excellent fuel efficiency, a spacious cabin, extended range and high level of reliability. It can accommodate up to 550 passengers — more than any other twin-engine long-haul aircraft. Boeing’s spacious Signature Interior includes large overhead compartments and has deservedly won popularity among passengers. New aircraft are also equipped with Boeing’s Airplane Health Management system.

The new aircraft forms part of Aeroflot’s strategy to expand its route network and to open new opportunities in Russia and abroad. By renewing and expanding its fleet, Aeroflot can provide a high level of flight reliability, improve product quality and enter new markets.

Also, Aeroflot has taken delivery of a new A320 fitted with state-of-the-art aerodynamic Sharklets wing-tips. The aircraft has been named in honour of Alexander Vishnevsky, the Russian and Soviet military surgeon and physician, founder of the Moscow Institute of Surgery who first developed procaine blockade as a method of local anesthesia.

Sharklets improve aircraft aerodynamics and reduce fuel consumption (up to 4 per cent, according to Airbus). These new wing-tips are 2.4 m high and made of composite materials.

All A320 aircraft are delivered to Aeroflot direct from the manufacturer. The A320 Alexander Vishnevsky is equipped with CFM56 engines and can accommodate 158 passengers in a spacious two-class configuration (8 seats in business and 150 in economy). These aircraft provide services mainly on European and domestic routes. Aeroflot is one of the world’s leading airlines in terms of operational reliability and actual hours flown per A320 aircraft.

A320 airplanes meet the highest reliability, safety and comfort standards and are considered one of the best aircraft available for medium-range flights.

Today Aeroflot’s fleet includes 93 A319/320/321 family aircraft with an average age of five  years.
