About 180,290 tourists of various nationalities, including 11,000 Egyptians, visited el-Qurna on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor last month, director of the Archeological Sector for Upper Egypt said yesterday.
More than 50,800 tourists, of whom 7,200 were Egyptians, visited the Valley of Queens during the same period, sector chief Dr Mohamed Assem Abdul Sabour said, adding that 20,135 people, including 113 Egyptians, visited the tomb of Tutankhmun, and 372,300 Egyptians visited the other archeological sites in the west bank of the Nile.
The el-Kurna area recorded LE9.9 million last month, Dr Abdul Sabour said.
