Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al Maghraby pledged raising the tourist growth rate to 7.2 % per year within the upcoming ten years as the figure of visiting tourists will go up from 6 million to 15 million and there are 30000 hotel rooms under construction.



The plan for tourism development is aimed at doubling accommodation, he said yesterday during a meeting of the Shura Council Tourism, Housing and Construction Committee, El-Maghraby said that in view of campaigns to promote tourism on the North Coast and the Siwa Oasis, the influx of tourists next year could hit a higher figure than the current one.



Tourism development of the Mediterranean coastal areas will cost $ 300 million, El-Maghraby added.
