Airport Industry Review to celebrate innovation in passenger services

The award will go to a project that enhances passengers’ experiences at the airport.

Airport Industry Review, the online magazine for the airport industry, has announced the Nominees for the Innovation in Passenger Services Technology Award.

The award will go to a project that enhances passengers’ experiences at the airport. All the nominees have shown excellence in designing new technologies to ensure smooth operational flow before or after flying. This can either be by speeding up check-in and boarding processes or by improving security awareness. The winner will be announced in the November issue of Airport Industry Review.

The nominees are:

  • Human Recognition Systems: MFLOW: Human Recognition Systems offer airports a unique way to meet security targets and improve the passenger experience.
  • Heathrow Airport: Positive Boarding: With their campaign, Positive Boarding, Heathrow Airport have created a passenger specific barcode on their boarding passes to provide passengers with tailored information on how to remain on schedule.
  • US Transport and Security Administration: The TSA blog: To stay connected in a modern and meaningful way, the TSA blog will give weekly updates encouraging the relationship between the TSA and passengers.
  • SITA: Horizon passenger management system: Designed to be compatible with a multiple of channels including mobile, SITA’s Horizon can respond to individual situations so that airlines can see customer opportunities in real time.
  • Aeroport de Paris: Automated baggage drop-off: The new self-served baggage drop-off system at the Aeroport de Paris allows passengers to drop off their baggage in as little as 17 seconds.
