SEATTLE – Alaska Airlines is expanding its Seattle hub with new service from Seattle to Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston is the seventh new city the carrier has added this year, following last month’s start of service from Seattle to Raleigh/Durham. A popular destination for both business and pleasure, Charleston has rich history while being a major business hub for companies worldwide.
“We’re excited to add Charleston, South Carolina to our growing list of non-stop cities from Seattle, now 86 and counting,” said John Kirby, the airline’s vice president of capacity planning. “The secret about Charleston as a destination is out of the bag, as readers of Conde Nast have voted it the top U.S. city the last five years in a row.”

Flights will be operated by fuel-efficient Next Generation 737 aircraft. Onboard, customers will get to enjoy more of what they love with free and premium entertainment direct to customer devices, Pacific Northwest-inspired food and beverages and custom leather seats with power outlets for laptops and personal devices for each customer.
