Best Travel Agency in India 2008

American Express Business Travel has been named Best Travel Agency in India 2008 as acknowledged by its customers, suppliers and industry peers who short listed the company and then opened it up for a vote to readers of Travel Weekly Asia.

The award comes as a validation of the significant investment in and ongoing success of the American Express Business Travel team in India.

Since the beginning of 2008 American Express Business Travel in India has increased new wins by 41% year over year, achieved retention success rates of 85%, and invested in new state of the art facilities in Cyber City.

Priyan Fernando, President, Global Customer Group and Chief Operating Officer for American Express Business Travel recently hosted customer forums in Delhi aimed at deepening the company’s understanding of the needs of our Indian clients and sharing international best practices.

“India is an incredibly important market for us and winning this award for our business in India is testament to the hard work and investment made over a sustained period of time. We have a rich history in India since we opened our first travel office in 1921 and it is significant to have achieved this industry recognition, particularly as it has come direct from our customers,” said Libby Roy, VP and GM American Express Business Travel, Japan, Asia Pacific and Australia.

“The current economic environment is putting increased bottom-line pressure on corporations, yet travel remains essential to conducting business. Companies are looking for new ways to keep their travellers on the road cost-effectively and this is why I believe American Express Business Travel has been so successful in servicing the needs of India companies.”
