Budapest Airport celebrated the launch of UTair’s direct service from St Petersburg, Russia on Sunday, April 28th. The inaugural Boeing 737-500 aircraft from Russia’s second largest city arrived in Budapest, marking the start of a year round, twice weekly direct service between the two cities. The inauguration was marked with a celebratory cake.

UTair operates twice weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome UTair to Budapest Airport for the first time. Its direct service to St Petersburg is an exciting addition to our growing route network and represents Budapest Airport’s second direct Russian destination. As Russia’s cultural capital and major financial and industrial centre, St Petersburg is an important destination for both business and leisure travel. It is likely to prove highly attractive to a great many travellers,” said Kam Jandu, Director of Aviation at Budapest Airport.
