CNN Ad Sales launches new multi-media branding platform: “The Destination” during WTM

LONDON – WTM 2013 – REPORT: Malawi Tourism is first client to feature in CNN Ad Sales’ expanded Travel & Tourism commercial portfolio.

LONDON – WTM 2013 – REPORT: CNN International Ad Sales has added a new branding platform to its portfolio of Travel & Tourism brand solutions. “The Destination” is geared towards raising the profile of emerging tourist destinations to leisure and business travellers worldwide. The launch comes as the global travel industry’s decision makers gather to discuss key issues and conduct business at the World Travel Market in London.

Conceived by CNN Ad Sales’ award-winning in-house commercial creative unit, Turner Commercial Productions (TCP), “The Destination” is a multi-media commercial execution designed as a one-stop creative solution for CNN Ad Sales clients. Launch client, Malawi Tourism, will see a series of strategically scheduled advertising executions in commercial space across CNN’s television and digital platforms.

“This new multi-media advertising execution offers our Travel & Tourism partners a flexible and versatile way of showcasing their brands to an international audience”, said Paul Harper Director of TCP. “We’re delighted to be working with Malawi on their first foray into international broadcast media advertising.”

“The Destination” Malawi campaign includes 20 and 30 second television commercials, which will air across CNN in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, alongside a commercial webpage thedestination.tv/Malawi, which includes further content promoting investment opportunities in Malawi.

The campaign will also include digital banner adverts running across CNNInternational.com, CNN Mobile and CNN’s iPad app. Social media extensions of the campaign will include the integration of Facebook and Twitter, enabling users to readily recommend the site to their networks of friends and followers.

CNN Ad Sales also provides expertise through initiatives such as the Consumer Connect Survey on Travel & Tourism, an in-depth study into the business and personal travel behaviour of CNN’s global audiences. Additionally, CNN Ad Sales’ longstanding Tourism Advertising Solutions and Knowledge (TASK) Group works together with in-country tourism and development boards, delivering grassroots consultative advice on branding, economic recovery and creating strategic media solutions beyond traditional advertising.
