airberlin: from Berlin to Warsaw three times daily starting March 2013

With the new Warsaw destination, airberlin’s route network to Poland totals three destinations. airberlin has operated non-stop flights from Berlin to Krakow since 2009.

airberlin is focused on the further expansion of the Polish market and will connect the two capitals of Berlin and Warsaw for the first time starting  23rd March 2013. Germany’s second largest airline will fly to Warsaw up to three times daily, making it the carrier with the highest number of non-stop flights from Berlin to this Polish city on the Vistula River. The flight times are optimally matched to the needs of both business and leisure travelers and allow flexible travel. airberlin tickets for the new route can be booked from 2nd October 2012.

Eastern Europe is a strategically important market for airberlin. With the new route to Warsaw, airberlin now flies to all major airports in Poland. The connection is also a major route expansion for our Berlin hub. For our passengers from Poland, connections are available to attractive destinations in the U.S. such as Miami, Los Angeles, New York and – starting 23rd March – the new service to Chicago,” said Paul Gregorowitsch, CCO airberlin

Prof. Dr. Rainer Schwarz, spokesman for Berlin Brandenburg airport management, said: “We are delighted that airberlin is expanding its Berlin hub with the Berlin-Warsaw connection. The new route creates additional transfer opportunities for long-haul flights from Berlin. Moreover, Poland is an important market for us with great future potential. For example, we provide our Polish-speaking passengers with information through our website or flyer in their native language.

We have been waiting for this route for a long time and visitBerlin will assist in marketing this route“, said visitBerlin director Burkhard Kieker.

Just in time for the summer 2013 flight schedule, airberlin will increase the number of flights to Krakow up to three times daily. Since the summer of 2012, airberlin has connected Berlin and Gdansk with non-stop flights up to two times daily. From the Berlin hub, passengers can access many connecting flights to destinations in airberlin’s worldwide network such as Abu Dhabi, Palma de Mallorca and Vienna.
