C-B-R, one of the leading exhibitions for leisure and tourism in Germany, will be held at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre from 19 to 23 February 2005. Over a period of 5 days, C-B-R 2005 will provide an incomparable information and trading platform for every caravanning, boat and tourism enthusiast. Visitors to the exhibition can look forward in all 3 areas to extensive sport and leisure activities, as well as a wide programme of events on numerous stages and in experience worlds.

The motto of C-B-R in February 2005 will be “La Dolce Vita“. Dr. Italo Somarriello, ENIT Director for German-speaking countries, is delighted that Italy will act as the partner country for C-B-R 2005: “Italy and the C-B-R travel exhibition have a long common tradition. We have been exhibiting regularly in Munich since 1973, i.e. the 32nd time next year. I have been here in Munich since the origins of the travel exhibition and am therefore delighted that Italy will be the partner country of C-B-R 2005. The Apennine peninsula will again be presented as a diverse holiday destination which caters for every desire.“ He praised Munich to the skies as the venue for C-B-R: “The Bavarian state capital has a lot in common with Italy and it is therefore a real pleasure for our company to exhibit here, especially since it is said that Munich is the most northerly city In Italy. Finally, Bavarians are loyal visitors to our country. 1 in 5 Bavarians spends the best days of the year between the Brenner Pass and Mount Etna.“

Italy has always been the largest exhibitor at the C-B-R International Travel Market Exhibition. In its capacity as partner country, it will not only organise an Italian evening, but also exude Italian flair through numerous presentations in Hall B5, on the show stage in Hall A5 and during many other events in the different experience worlds. Anyone wanting to experience Italy with all their senses will have an unique opportunity to do so at C-B-R 2005.

According to a survey conducted by F.U.R, Forschungsgemeinschaft Urlaub und Reisen e.V., 8.6% of Germans who took a holiday last year spent it in Italy. Overall, Italy is one of the most popular foreign holiday destinations. Every year, German tourists make 50.4 million overnight stays and spend €6.1 billion on holidays in that country. This popularity is due not least to the pronounced diversity of Italy both from regional aspects and in relation to the types of holiday on offer. With its 21 regions stretching from the Brenner Pass to Mount Etna, Italy is a diverse destination. It is characterised by art and culture, magnificent landscapes, unique coasts and lakes, fascinating mountains and delicious food and wine. Wellness tourists can let themselves be spoilt in thermal springs throughout the country. In terms of sport, however, Italy caters for the wishes of numerous active holidaymakers thanks to its 8000-kilometre-long coastline, well-equipped harbours and marinas, and a unique mountain landscape. But Italy also contains superb holiday routes for all caravanning fans and has fantastic camping sites. And anyone wanting to settle in their favourite holiday destination can make use of the large number of holiday properties.

It does not matter which type of holiday is chosen – a traditional educational trip, a seaside or active holiday, wellness holidays or enogastronomic holiday routes – Italy offers tourists everything their hearts desire.

According to a report by the European Travel Commission on trends in the tourism industry, the countries and regions that can offer tourists balanced and different holidays will become more important in future. Italy therefore already satisfies future tourism requirements.
