Coach operators dispute at Cliffs of Moher is resolved

A long running dispute between coach operators and Clare County Council over parking and admittance charges at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience has ended in agreement. A resolution was reached fter both parties agreed to a set of proposals, including the option for coach operators of choosing their preferred level of service.

"The existing premium level of service is now supplemented by an alternative level of service, which comes at a reduced charge", explained Katherine Webster, Director, Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience.

She continued, "I welcome the agreement that has been reached as it allows everybody interested in promoting tourism in the West of Ireland to work together. In particular, the Cliffs of Moher team looks forward to working closely with all coach and tour operators in ensuring that Ireland’s flagship tourist destination continues to be enjoyed by the estimated one million annual visitors."

According to Martin Lally of Lally Tours and Spokesperson for the Coach Tourism and Transport Council of Ireland, "Members of the CTTC are happy to accept the proposals that have been drawn up, in consultation with Clare County Council. We believe that the deal agreed represents a fair solution for everyone involved."
