FITUR Congresos 2003, Spain´s Meetings and Incentive Travel Workshop, has strengthened its position among the leading commercial meetings for  business tourism according to participation figures from its 4th edition. This event will take place at Feria de Madrid on 27th and 28th January. The fair will feature the presence of 200 international buyers from Spain´s main markets and 165 Spanish sales representatives. These figures represent a 30% increase in terms of the number of buyers and almost an 8% increase in sales representatives. These excellent prospects are based on the success of the previous edition of this workshop, held in 2002, along with the overall satisfaction levels revealed by participating professionals. FITUR Congresos will take place two days prior to the 23rd edition of the International Tourism Trade Fair, FITUR 2003, that will staged between 29th January and 3rd February 2003.

This trade fair has consolidated its place among the leading trade events in this sector. At the same time, it has successfully validated its workshop format, in which both supply and demand in the field of business tourism come together through pre-established individual meetings at which buyers receive the sales representative. It is important to emphasize the marketing campaigns carried out by TURESPAÑA and IBERIA to attract international buyers from all over the world.

FITUR Congresos guarantees that each sales representative will have no less than ten individual meetings arranged with international buyers, assuring the profitability of their stay in Madrid. In addition, this minimum amount of daily meetings can be complemented with other interviews outside the conference schedule thanks to various events, lunches, and previously arranged meetings.

To make the most of these opportunities, the fair has established a conference on 27th January for those buyers from the Euro zone and another on 28th January for buyers from the rest of the world. This programme was set up at the last edition, which also coincided with the introduction of the single European currency.

Leading markets such as Germany and Great Britain, among other European countries, will be represented along with the United States, Canada, and other Latin American countries.
