Leading independent agents’ consortium Freedom is launching a new division for ABTA retail agents who feel frustrated and confused about the direction their existing Consortium is taking. Freedom Independent Choice differs from the existing Freedom model by enabling members to retain control of their own cashflow, bank account and ABTA membership, according to the company.
The new organisation, which will trade as a division of the Freedom Travel Agents Consortium, will offer members free front and back-office technology as well as access to free dynamic packaging software. Freedom Independent Choice also will give members access to group-wide commercial terms, an intranet with the latest information and deals and access to low-cost business insurance cover if required.
The consortium is actively targeting Advantage, Worldchoice and Global members to provide them with an alternative from what is already a successful agency consortium with the backup of United Co-op Travel Group.
Freedom Travel Agents Consortium General Manager Trevor Davis has written to independent agents across the country inviting them to explore the opportunities opened up by Freedom Independent Choice.
Davis says: “The merger of Advantage, Worldchoice and Global, as well as changes at Midconsort mean, agents no longer have the same choice in who to ally themselves with and get the best help and advice for their businesses in today’s challenging travel market.
