(Inter)national planners of corporate meetings visited Maastricht & Region

On Sunday the 25th and Monday the 26th of March, 33 (inter)national planners of corporate meetings visited Maastricht & region. They were invited by the Maastricht Convention Bureau, which thought that The European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF) was the perfect time to show them Maastricht & region and its possibilities for conventions and meetings. “Maastricht is even more beautiful during such an event”.

Sunday the 25th of March, 11.00 am: Tamara Piatkiewitz-Weide welcomes 33 (inter)national planners of corporate meetings in Maastricht. “Luckily they have all changed their clock to summertime,” laughs the sales manager Meetings & Incentives of the Maastricht Convention Bureau, “otherwise they would have missed an exciting two-day programme.”

The site visit, as the two-day visit to Maastricht & region is called in the meeting branch, is ready to start. “During the international art and antiques fair TEFAF, Maastricht is even more beautiful. That is why we are more than happy to welcome so many guests during this site visit. Off course we will visit TAFAF today, however that is only a small part of the busy programme. When the planners leave Maastricht tomorrow afternoon, they have seen many venues, they have tasted the atmosphere and the regional food and have experienced an example of a team event,” says Tamara.

The Maastricht Convention Bureau organises such site visits several times a year, in cooperation with their partners. “Without their collaboration we would not be able to organise such successful events,” says Tamara. She continues: “our foundation has over 40 partners. They are all suppliers of the meeting and convention industry. Via the Maastricht Convention Bureau, they work together to promote Maastricht & region, in The Netherlands and abroad, as a destination for conventions and corporate meetings. One of these promotion tools is the site visit like the one from last Sunday and Monday. The planners have seen a lot of possibilities when it comes to conventions and meetings and the region is on their top of minds again as a destination for corporate meetings. And of course, that is exactly why we do it!”.
