Expeditions, adventure and discovery travel represent a fast-growing sector of the travel industry, a trend which visitors to the ITB Berlin, will experience in the “Experience Adventure“ section. The programmes offered by tour operators and tourist boards from Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Lapland, Egypt, Canada, the USA, Mexico, Venezuela, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Belize, Peru, Cuba, Australia, Russia, Mali and many other countries will be sure to spark visitors’ enthusiasm for adventure.
During the trade visitor days from Wednesday, 7 to Friday, 9 March 2007 a meeting will be taking place to discuss Adventure travel – flashpoints, challenges and trends, attended by top-level international speakers, with Judith Adlhoch kicking off a colourful programme of events. Well-known as host of the TV travel show Voxtours, she will be presenting various regions around the world, and in her own role as an enthusiastic globetrotter will comment people’s experiences in the countries in question.
The programme also includes teamwork coaching seminars and discussion rounds involving experts debating the medical problems that arise during expeditions, as well as an innovative trend, trips to destinations to watch an eclipse of the sun. Speakers will also be talking about current trends such as expeditions, adventure and sports travel. Native American Cherokees from North Carolina and Navajo nation dancers from Utah giving traditional song and dance performances will be making sure of a genuine adventure atmosphere at the ITB. Over the weekend audiences will be mesmerised by TV programmes broadcast by VOX. Other weekend attractions will include the “Experience Adventure Cup“.
