MEDI BIT 2003 is a three-day full immersion to fine tune a suitable strategy to exploiting and discovering the wealthy treasures of Sicily along with the whole Mediterranean area. This great event taking place in Palermo at Fiera del Mediterraneo on next 21-23 March is produced by Ente Autonomo Fiera del Mediterraneo in co-operation with Assessorato al Turismo e Trasporti della Regione Siciliana (Sicily Regional Council for Tourism and Transport), EXPOcts (a leading organization in Italy and Europe in the field of international fair events with a feature of operativiness and business, including BIT – Borsa Internazionale del Turismo – Milano) and supported by the Italian Tourism Board.
This event aims at promoting Italian tourism related especially to Sicily and the Mediterranean area, by creating mutual contacts between foreign buyers and Italian and international tour operators, by making them able to know closely the Sicilian world with its infinite tourism strenght, and by stating the central role of the Mediterranean market.
Medi Bit 2003 is to be meant as the active and actual centre towards which the best resources of international tourism supply are directed and strongly supported by the local boards.
These are the main dates: on 21 March a workshop focused on Integrated tourism in the Mediterranean is organized to consider how the integrated tour packages development can concern the several Mediterranean areas; on 22 March the Opportunities of new air connections in Sicily are the topics of a debate about the improvement of the ways of access to the island.
Sicilia Open Stand is where the Sicilian companies exhibit their products and offerings and, through definite educational tours, they will lead personally the public into the promoted places to make them discover history, culture, traditions and flavours of the Sicilian land. More than 110 Italian and international exhibitors are expected to be here.
