Rhodes<.> officials said that they have so far marked an increase in the number of arrivals to their island but a decrease in the number of tourists from Germany. More precisely, in the first six-month period of 2001, arrivals increased by 2 percent as compared with the corresponding period of 2000. In June, total arrivals to the island increased by 1,92 percent. British travelers seem to favor the island the most followed by tourists from Germany. Nonetheless, arrivals from Germany marked a sharp drop in the area of 11,17 percent over the figures recorded in the same period last year.
