Edward Plaisted, CEO of the London-based aviation research institute, Skytrax, was on hand for an awards ceremony at Munich Airport to honor Munich/s status as the Best Airport in Europe for 2006. In April, Munich Airport picked up the accolade for the second year in a row, and also moved up one spot to number 3 worldwide, in the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2006 survey of 7 million passengers from 93 countries.
Munich Airport CEO, Dr. Michael Kerkloh, accepted the award on behalf of the 500-plus companies that make up the Munich Airport campus. This is not an award which we/ve won alone as the airport operator, noted Kerkloh, adding that the excellence in service here at Munich Airport is a result of outstanding teamwork between members of the airport family.
